SERI ISKANDAR: Seri Iskandar Hospital will start its operation on Dec 11, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad."For the operation of this hospital, 516 new positions have been approved, including 22 medical officer posts, 97 assistant medical officers, 137 nurses, and 260 positions for other service schemes," he said at the handover ceremony for the Seri Iskandar Hospital project and the Seri Manjung Hospital additional block on Thursday .

These services include emergency medicine, general medicine and surgery,He said that Changkat Melintang Hospital would continue to operate as a step-down ward and is currently being evaluated for its potential to become a hemodialysis centre, especially for nearby patients.
Meanwhile, Dzulkefly said the construction of the additional block at Seri Manjung Hospital, which cost RM75mil and was completed on Aug 27, is scheduled to begin operations on Jan 13, 2025. He said the additional block includes two new buildings: a four-story building with 48 additional beds and four surgery halls and a single-story building housing a psychiatric ward.
Dzulkefly added that Several other healthcare facility projects in Perak are still under construction and are scheduled for completion in 2025 and 2026, namely the Parit Buntar Hospital construction, the upgrading of the Transfusion Department at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital and a new Maternal and Child Health building at the Greentown Health Clinic in Ipoh.
