Serena Williams Announces She’s Expecting Her Second Child at the 2023 Met Gala

The tennis star revealed the happy news on Instagram prior to walking the red carpet, in a post featuring photos of her in her elegant Gucci look of the night—a black-and-white dress which showed off her growing baby bump.

"Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala," she wrote in the caption, speaking of herself, husband Alexis Ohanian, and their unborn child. Williams wore a black dress with sheer, billowing long sleeves and a breezy white chiffon skirt which flowed into a long train. The piece was embellished with pink-toned crystals at the neck and skirt, and featured white cuffs with pink crystal buttons. She accessorized the dramatic piece with layers of white pearl necklaces, a pearl headband by Lelet NY, and diamond stud earrings from Tiffany & Co., as well as her diamond engagement ring and wedding band.
