SEREMBAN: A woman who attacked an ex-colleague with a glass at a restaurant, causing her injuries, was fined RM3,000 in default eight months' jail by the Magistrate's Court here Tuesday (Feb 14).
Nur Shahirah Choo Fui Tze Chen, 40 who is now heavily pregnant, pleaded guilty to the charge after it was read to her before magistrate Mohamad Ibrahim Mohammad Ghulam.
Nur Shahirah was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine or whipping, or any two of those penalties, upon conviction. The victim was having a drink with another friend when she received a call from an uncle asking about her wellbeing.
