During a Tuesday parliamentary session in Belgrade, opposition lawmakers interrupted proceedings with whistles and horns, lit flares, and threw stun and smoke grenades colored black, white, and pink. vocal supporter Serbian Progressive Party MP Jasmina Obradović suffered a stroke after being hit in the head with a stun grenade and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Vučić visited her in the hospital. “I believe in her strength. Jasmina will win, Serbia will win!” Vučić said in a statement on social media.SERBIAN PRESIDENT SAYS HE VOTED AGAINST RUSSIA IN UKRAINE RESOLUTION BY ACCIDENT: ‘I’M TOO TIRED’ Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic denounced the protesters as a “terrorist gang.” Opposition lawmakers had attempted to physically confront her, but were blocked by security. The riot was carried out in support of massive student-led protests that have rocked the country in recent months. The protests are in response to the collapse of the concrete canopy of the Novi Sad railway station, which is believed to be due to shoddy construction work as a result of government corruption. The collapse killed 15 people and seriously injured two others.
