Serbia booted out Lithuania, 87-68, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, September 5 to clinch the first semifinals berth in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Bogdan Bogdanivic poured 18 of his 21 points in the first half, shooting 9-of-13 in the quarterfinals match to lead the Serbians, who surpassed their quartefinal wish in the 2019 edition of the world meet in China.
After a nip-and-tuck battle in the first quarter, Serbia pulled away with a 25-point deluge in the second frame to enter the half with a 49-38 lead.The Serbians took the fight out of the Lithuanians in the final canto, leading by as many as 25 points after Filip Petrusiv's second straight trey with 6:05 left.
