Tumelo Madlala, who was under cross-examination on Thursday by defence lawyers at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria in the trial of the five men accused of killing the soccer star, said that he was still asking himself how Twala was able to do this .

Meyiwa, a former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, was shot and killed in what the state alleges was a botched robbery that took place on October 26, at Madlala was among the seven people present in the house on the night of the incident, including Twala - who was dating Khumalo’s sister, Zandile Khumalo-Gumede, at the time.According to Twala’s evidence-in-chief, two intruders had entered the Khumalo house on that fateful day and demanded money and cellphones.
Mshololo asked Madlala how it was possible for Twala to push an armed intruder without fearing for his life when one of the Khumalos' neighbours testified that he had hesitated to chase the intruders because they were armed.
