CLEVELAND, Ohio - An 18-year-old who pleaded guilty in connection with a Euclid police chase which ended in the death of an innocent bystander, will be sentenced by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge John Russo Thursday.On Jan. 29, Griffin pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder and one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

According to Euclid Police Captain Mitch Houser, on March 17, 2024, the city’s FLOCK camera system notified officers a stolen Jeep was in the area of of North Lakeland Boulevard and East 222nd Street. An officer responded to the area around 3 p.m. and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and fled, said Captain Houser.

Three minutes later, Griffin crashed into a car driven by Michelle Wall, 44, at the intersection of E. 156th Street and Calcutta Avenue in Cleveland.Captain Houser said Griffin and a second suspect fled from the scene, but were arrested in a nearby backyard. Captain Houser added a gun was found in the Jeep, which was reported stolen in Cleveland around 2 a.m. on March 15, during a carjacking of two women in the area of East 26th Street and Superior Avenue.
