John Carroll wants to convert six off campus apartments into student housing as part of its $100 million investment in the futureSHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio - Jean Harper has lived in Fairmount Villas since she sold her house in the Heights six years ago and wants to stay in her building.

John Carroll University owns six buildings around Fairmount Circle just off campus, including Harper’s building, and the University will try to open up three of those buildings for students this fall. “Starting with three units, one-and-a half of which are in University Heights, the other one-and-a-half in Shaker Heights,” said Mike Scanlan, Vice President of University Relations. “Those three buildings were already mostly inhabited by students already.”
