PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR – A 64-year-old man suspected of having contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 died last Sunday while admitted at the Margosatubig Regional Hospital.

The patient, who was from Barangay Poblacion in the municipality of Lapuyan, was the seventh suspected COVID-19 case in the province who died, the Zamboanga del Sur COVID-19 Task Force said.He died of acute respiratory failure secondary to community acquired pneumonia with severe signs of COVID-19 symptoms.

Jeesrel Himang, information officer of the provincial COVID-19 Task Force, said the swab test result of the patient is pending.
