The Senate Finance Committee is set to vote this week on whether to advance Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 's nomination to the Senate floor, amid growing concerns about his potential confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
"We had 1,400 cases of measles and nine deaths in our city. One city. I mean, Philadelphia became a feared destination," Dr. Paul Offit, the director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, said. "Schools canceled trips to the city, and I just fear we're heading in that direction."
"Was he a traitor at the time when he took America's secrets, released them in public, and then ran to China and became a Russian citizen," Sen. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma, questioned. Some Republicans are reportedly struggling with her nomination, as former President Donald Trump's team plans to target lawmakers who oppose his nominees.
