Incumbent Democrat Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick are now separated by about 40,000 votes.But, Casey's campaign said Monday there are still 100,000 more votes to count."Our county election officials will finish counting those votes, just like they do in every election," Casey said in a statement on Tuesday. "The American democratic process was born in Pennsylvania and that process will play out."If the margin gets smaller, it could end up in a recount.

Election workers in Philadelphia have flagged thousands of provisional ballots that need ID verification. Other counties have hundreds more.RELATED: In order for your vote to be counted, you need to submit proof of identification to the board of elections.
