Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is home from an inpatient rehabilitation facility where he was recovering from a concussion

WASHINGTON—Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is home from an inpatient rehabilitation facility where hesuffered after tripping at a hotel during a private dinner a little over two weeks ago.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone for all the kind wishes,” Mr. McConnell said in a Saturday statement, adding that he planned to work from home for the next few days on the advice of his physical therapists.after the accident, said he was in frequent touch with Senate colleagues and staff and that “I look forward to returning in person to the Senate soon.”

Mr. McConnell, 81 years old, had been absent from the Senate since his March 8 fall. The accident occurred at the Waldorf Astoria Washington D.C., formerly the Trump International Hotel, where he was attending an event organized on behalf of the Senate Leadership Fund, which raises money to support Republicans running for U.S. Senate seats.

Doctors found that he had suffered a concussion and a minor rib fracture. Mr. McConnell suffered polio as a child and his gait is still uneven.
