Senate Democrats will huddle in a special caucus meeting Thursday to discuss gun control in the wake of recent mass shootings.
During the meeting, Democrats will"discuss gun violence and the path forward on gun safety legislation," a spokesperson for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer confirmed to the Washington Examiner. Over the weekend, a gunman opened fire in a Texas mall, leaving nine dead, including the shooter, and injuring at least seven others. The shooting took place at Allen Premium Outlets just 25 miles north of Dallas.
"The news of this latest mass shooting in Texas is horrifying. We pray for the victims, the survivors, their families, and the community, and thank the first responders. We must keep working to end gun violence in America. We must keep working for stronger gun safety legislation," Schumer tweeted.
