Sa pagdiriwang ng Father’s Day, balikan ang buhay at kilalanin pa lalo sina Sen. Rene at Sen. Pong, bilang mga ama mula sa alaala ng kanilang mga anak na sina Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano at Muntinlupa Mayor Rozanno Ruffy Biazon.
Kabilang sina dating senador Rene 'Compañero' Cayetano at Rodolfo "Pong" Biazon, sa mga iginagalang at hinahangaang mambabatas noong sila'y nabubuhay. Ngunit higit sa pagiging lingkod-bayan, nakaukit sila sa alaala ng kani-kanilang anak bilang ulirang ama.
Matapos maghapunan, makikipagpulong pa si Rene sa kaniyang mga kliyente o kaibigan, bago makakauwi ng 9:30 o 10 p.m. Magpapahinga o “unwind” siya sa pamamagitan ng panonood ng balita sa gabi, kuwento ni Cayetano.Hindi rin umano nawawala sa kaniyang ama ang pagbabasa ng Biblia. Nakagawian din daw ni Rene ang maghanap ng dessert bago matulog, gaya ng buko, egg tart o banana cake. Sa hapon, hinahanap palagi ng kaniyang ama ang meryenda na soft drinks at sandwich.
At kahit palaging abala sa trabaho, sinabi ni Cayetano palaging kinukumusta ng kanilang ama ang kanilang pag-aaral. Kung minsan, magbabahagi naman ito sa kanila ng mahabang kuwento.“Yung kahit anong busy niya, kahit sinong ka-meeting niya, kahit saan siya pupunta, pagka-anak, puwede siyang i-bother or ‘Maghintay ka lang sa labas’ then you can see him. ‘Pag-time niyo, time niyo talaga," sabi ni Cayetano.
“So, we always felt that we were the favorite. Pero, alam namin na we were not the only favorite,” ani Cayetano. “Napaka-strict niya, pero napaka-loving. So, if you ask me to describe ‘yung fondest memories, it's really having a strict but very loving father,” anang senador, na sinabing isa ito sa mga hinahangaan niya sa ama.
Kuwento niya, lumaki si Rene na walang mga kasambahay at kumukuha noon ng part-time job, kaya naman tiniyak din ng ama na ituturo nito sa kanila ang magbanat ng buto.
