Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association president Datuk Seri Wong Siew Hai said companies producing consumer products such as the iPhone and personal computers are seeing lower revenue due to reduced consumer demand.
"The electronic and electrical sector’s growth in 2021 was 18 per cent. I expect the growth in 2022 to be 19 per cent year-on-year,” he told the reporters at an appreciation luncheon with former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed here today. However, he said that there are certain areas where the companies are unaffected and still reasonably strong.
