A Merseyside pub has hit out at parents that bring their children to 'looked after' by staff
ECHO readers have branded some parents 'selfish', after a pub made the 'disappointing' decision to ban children after 7pm. The Dam, in St Helens , released a statement claiming that some parents bring their children to the pub to be 'looked after.' They said that as a result, children will no longer be allowed on the premises after 7pm, unless permission has been granted by management.
' Commenting on the ECHO Facebook page, Steven Shanley replied: 'How disappointing that the few spoil it for everyone else. Parents should parent their own children, the nerve of them to expect the staff to look after them. The staff are put in an awkward position, they're not there to babysit but they also have to be mindful of other customers and the safety of everyone, including the unruly children.
