“Marty is examining your engagement ring,” Kimmel, 57, said as he pulled up a clip of Short touching Gomez’s marquise diamond while sitting next to her at their table.Kimmel then asked if he was complimenting the design, to which Gomez replied, “He wanted to know what was going on. I don’t think he cared. Maybe he had a little .”
After cracking up, Kimmel asked if Blanco, 36, asked Short or Steve Martin — who Gomez costars with on Only Murders in the Building — for his permission to propose. Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement via Instagram last month. In the adorable shots, she shared a zoomed-in pic of her ring, which features a large center stone set on a gold band adorned with smaller diamonds.
