NSTnation: Selangor PakatanHarapan has removed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) members from state administrative roles.

As with Bersatu’s exit from the coalition, their members in Selangor were also removed from other positions including in the state executive council, local councils, government-linked companies and other administrative areas.

Selangor PH leadership in a joint statement today also maintained its support for Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, from PKR, to remain as menteri besar. Without six of Bersatu’s assemblymen in the state legislative assembly, PH now retains a new majority of 44 seats out of 56. PKR holds 20 seats in the coalition.

“This is a sign of our respect and commitment after the unprecedented mandate by the people of Selangor towards PH in the 14th General Election,” read the statement signed by Amirudin as Selangor PKR chairman, Selangor Parti Amanah Negara chairman Izham Kassim and Selangor DAP chairman Gobind Singh Deo.

“PH is committed to continuing its professional cooperation in line with the Federal Constitution for the betterment of our people. PH will work together to uphold the mandate of the people.”
