The former theatre and convention centre is due to be finally torn down years after closing

Southport 's now derelict Theatre and Convention Centre is to be demolished from the inside out as Sefton Council announced a new update in the building of the £73m Marine Lake Events Centre.

It has also been confirmed that the work will begin from the inside before any work is seen to be done from the outside, as people eagerly wait to see how the plans will take shape in the coming months. In a social media post, Sefton Council said on Monday, 24 June: "Within the existing project hoarding, you might start to see some activities and deliveries from our contractor to site over the coming week. This is to enable team to gear-up for the demolition works to start on site.
