.Madonna, who caused a firestorm after dancing in front of burning crosses and kissing a black Jesus in 1989's Like a Prayer music video is causing a commotion again ahead of her new world tour. MariaLeaf reports.
The pop icon is featured on the cover of Vanity Fair in parts of Europe portraying Jesus and the Virgin Mary in a new feature for the magazine.
"Icon. Pioneer. Diva. Pop stars. The first #VFIconIssue could only be dedicated to. For her return to the scene and to commemorate her 40-year career, Vanity Fair has involved the singer in a project signed by photographers Luigi & Iango," a tweet from Vanity Fair Italia stated. The ad and video were at the time used to promote her"Blonde Ambition" world tour in 1990. On Tuesday, Madonna announced a new "Celebration" world tour, which will begin July 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
