The 2024 Summer Olympics kicked off with a very wet opening ceremonies in Paris.

The full grandeur of Paris was on display during the show, as athletes floated by iconic Parisian landmarks during their nearly 4-mile float and the Eiffel Tower shimmered with lights and lasers. Northeast Ohio native and Cavs great LeBron James bore the flag for the United States, alongside of tennis star Coco Gauff.
The Olympic torch made its way by the Eiffel Tower by Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, before being handed off for a run down the Seine River by other iconic Olympic athletes including Serena Williams.The cauldron, a 7-meter wide ring of fire sitting below a 30-meter hot air balloon and a tribute to the first flight in a hydrogen-filled gas balloon which took place in Paris in 1783, rose into the skies over Paris for the finale.
