KOTA KINABALU: A group of security guards have claimed that their former employer failed to settle claims of more than RM281,000 in unpaid wages and overtime despite being ordered by the Labour Court to do so.
Their spokesman Mohd Jabidi Junaidi said the 14 guards were assigned at the district hospital in Sabah’s southwestern Beaufort district.
The remaining seven guards, he said, subsequently filed for claims amounting to RM141,733.10 in the second case at the same court. "We believe that the employer is already aware of the adjustment of the minimum wage starting in May 2022 as well as overtime pay," he said on Tuesday ." we continued to work with the company without protest, not neglecting any right to demand planned dismissal while waiting for the Court's decision," he said.
