KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard died after being buried alive at his guard post following a landslide near Wisma YPR along Jalan 2/87G, Taman Seputeh here.
City Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre said they received information about the landslide at 12.54am."We immediately dispatched fire engines, rapid intervention motorcycles, and other assets together with K-9 units and 37 personnel members to the scene," it said in a statement on Thursday .
According to the department operations commander Mohd Rizuan Razali, the first unit arrived at the scene at 1.05am and found that a landslide had occurred and buried a security post."We also received information that an adult male security guard was buried under the soil. "Search and rescue efforts for the victim were immediately started with the help of K-9 units with the help of Special Tactical Operation and Rescue Team of Malaysia personnel and Kuala Lumpur City Hall excavators," he said adding that the victim was dug out at 6.23am and was pronounced dead by paramedics there.
