Lawmakers grilled Kimberly Cheatle over how the agency messed up so badly.
“The Secret Service ’s solemn mission is to protect our nation’s leaders,” Cheatle said on Monday. “On July 13, we failed. As the director of the United States Secret Service , I take full responsibility for any security lapse of our agency.
