With the film taking place in the 1990s, Carol joins forces with Fury to help the Skrulls find a new home somewhere in the universe, with Earth providing them with a temporary base. However, by the time of Secret Invasion 30 years later, the Skrulls still don’t have a planet to call their own, and there are some younger members of their ranks who will not forgive Fury for failing to fulfil his promise.
Enter Gravik , a Skrull who showed great potential as a child, and is now using his intelligence, power, influence and shape-shifting ability to lead an extremist group in wreaking utter chaos on the world, indifferent to the fact that countless lives are being lost due to his actions.
