Northwestern is playing in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history after finishing second in the Big Ten (12-8) and going 21-11 overall. The No. 7 seed, NU plays No. 10 Boise State Thursday night in the first round.
The Northwestern coach rose to national prominence in 2016-17, leading the Wildcats to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
"If it was so easy to win, a lot of people would do it. There's a reason why it's only been two times in whatever, close to 100 years." The Wildcats are the No. 7 seed in the West Region and they face No. 10 Boise State in the first round at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday night in Sacramento.
