A 15-year-old suspect, Nicholas Rodriguez, died two days after a police shooting and car crash in downtown San Antonio. Rodriguez and another suspect, Nathaniel Moreno, 19, were involved in a reported stolen vehicle. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects refused to comply, leading to a pursuit and a shootout. The stolen vehicle crashed and caught fire, resulting in the death of Rodriguez.

At the intersection, officers said they surrounded Moreno and Rodriguez, who refused to stop before they backed into multiple SAPD vehicles and a separate parked vehicle.
