“Roads were noted to be very icy throughout resulting in loss of steering control in the pursued vehicle, posing a hazard for oncoming cars, some of which had to take evasive action to avoid collision,”. Police seized a stun gun, a knife, a hatchet, a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition. After he was found guilty on several charges in connection with this incident, the Crown argued for an indeterminate prison sentence.

The court, in the 2021 decision, ordered him to serve 62 months, less remand credit of 50 months, leaving him 12 months to serve. The court also ordered an LTO of five years in addition to any such order he was subject to at the time of the decision.with first-degree murder in connection with Doucette’s death. The same man is also charged with first-degree murder in a second historical homicide, the stabbing of 22-year-old Spencer Whiteman on Jan. 1, 2009.
