Second gentleman of the U.S. Doug Emhoff was in Reno Friday campaigning for his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris.

He started out his visit at a phone bank hosted by Washoe Dems. He came alongside actor Josh Gad, who praised Vice President Harris and her policies, while speaking against former President Donald Trump and running mate Sen. J.D. Vance.

"Vice President Harris cares about you, your families and even the people who don't vote for her, while the other guy only cares about and for himself," Gad said. Emhoff also spoke at the event, contrasting the two candidates and their differing views on several issues like abortion and taxes, highlighting the importance of getting people to the polls.

"Our job and your job right here on the ground here is to get that word out to your friends, neighbors and people who somehow need more information in your community, because the truth is right in front of everyone's eyes," Emhoff said. The Second Gentleman made two more stops in Reno before making an appearance at a tailgate for UNR homecoming and then appearing at the homecoming game alongside University President Brian Sandoval.
