in what sheriff’s office described as an ambush outside a far west Bexar County home was arrested Monday afternoon in Corpus Christi. Alfred “Krueger” Lopez, 54, was charged with capital murder with multiple persons.
His brother, 49-year-old Nickolas “Blue” Lopez, was arrested Friday on a murder charge. Investigators believe the brothers lured Janell Lopez, 38, and Xavier Alvarez, 24, to Nickolas Lopez’s home on Jan. 6 with the intent to ambush and kill the two. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the shooting may have stemmed from a feud involving a love triangle, but he said investigators don’t know what roles the suspects and victims played in that. Deputies responded to calls regarding shots fired in the 7000 block of Calle Fincias, where they found Alvarez and Lopez with multiple gunshot wounds. Alvarez was found lying in a pool of blood on the street next to a Chrysler Pacifica minivan that was parked on the street, while Lopez was inside the vehicle on the passenger seat.Man arrested in double fatal shooting at far west Bexar County home Deputies found several dozen 9 mm and.223-caliber shell casings around the Pacifica, including on the driveway and the home’s front yard, creating a “trail-like” pattern leading from the vehicle to the home’s front door. A witness told deputies that multiple people were hanging out at Nickolas Lopez’s house when the brothers asked another man to call Alvarez to come over to talk. The witness said that he was in the backyard when the shooting started. When the gunfire paused, he went to the front yard, where he saw Nickolas Lopez standing by the front door firing a rifle and a handgun toward the Pacifica. “I believe this was premeditated,” Salazar said. “These victims were lured there with the intention to ambush and kill them.” Arrest warrants for the two brothers were issued on March 3. Deputies arrested Nickolas Lopez that day in the 8000 block of Campfire Lane in west Bexar County.
