The SEC 2026 conference schedule reveal is set to be formally released at 6 p.m. central time on Tuesday, September 23, and will be broadcast on SEC Network and ESPN2.
- The Southeastern Conference is preparing to shake things up with the unveiling of their 2025 college football conference schedule on Tuesday. Among the changes coming to the newly expanded nine-game SEC schedule is an overhaul to the opponents each team will face, with the conference having finalized a format that will stick for at least the next four years.
Each team will have three permanent opponents that they will face every year for the next four seasons, while each team is also guaranteed to face each other league opponent at some point every two years.In choosing the locked-in opponents for each team, SEC officials focused first on the conference’s longstanding and most important rivalries before balancing out remaining options as best as possible. This included using a formula of combined league records to match up teams outside of the rivalries the conference wanted to guarantee continued. Among the traditional rivalries that are locked in for 2026 and beyond is the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn, the Third Saturday in October between Alabama and Tennessee, the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry between Auburn and Georgia, and other rivalries like Georgia-Florida, Texas-Oklahoma, and Ole Miss-Mississippi State.The SEC 2026 conference schedule reveal is set to be formally released at 6 p.m. central time on Tuesday, September 23, and will be broadcast on SEC Network and ESPN2.
