After Sebastian Stan Revealed He’d Been Shunned By His Fellow Actors For Starring In A Movie That Portrayed Donald Trump In A Negative Light, He Has Opened Up About The “Disappointing” Experience, on the popular Variety series, but no other actor would pair with him after he left Trump furious with the controversial biopicfirst launched in 2014, and episodes have two stars come together for an extended conversation about their most recent projects ahead of awards season.
“That’s when, I think, we lose the situation,” Sebastian continued. “If it really becomes that fear or that discomfort to talk about this, we’re really going to have a problem. There was an op-ed that came out, I sent to , in the New York Times recently that I thought was really interesting, it was: ‘We have to stop pretending that Trump is not one of us.’”
“From Cannes on, you know, all of us have gotten emails and texts and incredible messages or been approached by people at events or parties saying: ‘Hey, this is my favorite movie of the year, wow, you guys are incredible, you did so great, I’m blown away, you’re so brave, so this,’ you know?” Sebastian went on.
And discussing Trump more broadly, Sebastian said: “He’s given people permission to lose their humanity — to behave in ways they wouldn’t have before. And that’s what scares me the most. The opposite of love isn’t hate — it’s indifference. And I worry about the indifference we’re seeing now.”
