A West Seattle cafe became the target of a bizarre theft when hundreds of eggs were taken from the restaurant's refrigerated shed. The suspects, caught on camera, fled the scene with a large quantity of food, leaving behind a trail of scrambled clues.
Hundreds of eggs have vanished from a West Seattle restaurant in what police are describing as a 'breakfast heist.' The theft occurred during the early morning hours of February 5th in the vicinity of SW Manning Street and SW Avalon Way. Officers responded to the Luna Park Cafe at approximately 4:42 a.m. after an employee reported suspicious activity captured live on security cameras.
The footage revealed two men entering the restaurant's refrigerated shed and removing boxes containing approximately 540 eggs, valued at around $387, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD). In addition to the eggs, the establishment reported the theft of bacon, ground beef, blueberries, and other egg products, totaling $780. The video showed all of the stolen items being loaded into a van. 'An employee of the cafe arrived at the business to find the van had returned to the property with one of the suspects near the shed once again,' stated the SPD. 'The man got back into the van, and the suspects, like eggs, ran from the scene, likely afraid of being scrambled,' continued the statement. The SPD is urging anyone with information regarding this case to contact the SPD Tip Line at (206) 233-5000
