Starting January 29th, nine branches of the Seattle Public Library will be open an additional day per week, providing more accessibility to library services and programs.
Nine branches of the Seattle Public Library system will get expanded hours starting later this month.The expanded hours go into effect on January 29 across the city. With an added day, these branches are now open six days per week. With these expansions, the library system now has all locations open at least six days a week, and 13 locations open seven days a week.However, the exclusion is the University Branch which closes for renovations on the same day expansions go into effect, Jan. 29.
'With this expansion, our patrons can visit our Library spaces more days a week to use the services that are most important to them, from browsing and checking out materials to attending our many wonderful programs,' said Chief Librarian Tom Fay. 'We look forward to seeing more of you in 2025!'Representatives with the library system say the changes will be in effect through the rest of the year to provide consistency
