The president of the Seattle Police Officer's Guild signaled Monday that he's open to flexible scheduling and bringing in part-time police officers.
"Absolutely. We've already agreed to it. We just need to sit down and hammer out the minutiae and the minute details of what that looks like. But 90% of it is already done," said Guild President Mike Solan in an interview with KOMO News, adding that the guild has an MOU with the city on the subject.
But Solan indicated that the language may already be in place, and it is just a measure of working out the logistics. It was a thought echoed by Seattle City Council Public Safety Chair Bob Kettle. Kettle was hesitant to suggest a time frame but that the wheels could be put in motion during the six months that Rahr has committed to serve.
