The Seattle Mariners shared a video on social media showing top 2024 draft pick Jurrangelo Cijntje receiving encouraging messages from his friends and family.
The Seattle Mariners have had one of the best farm systems in baseball for the better part of the season.
Cijntje was drafted with the 15th pick of the first round of this year's draft out of Mississippi State. Cijntje was born in the Netherlands but mainly grew up in Curaçao. While living in Curaçao — Cijntje competed on the country's 2016 Little League World Series team before moving to Miami at 16 years-old.
Cijntje's father and grandfather both played baseball and helped inspire the youngest of the Cijntje family to pursue a career in baseball.
