“We're absolutely committed to creating a legacy beyond the games, which will be a large part of our legacy will be leaving digital assets to the people of Washington,” said Chin when talking about the landmark date. She said her team has already been working on a Wayfinder app that will be targeting foreign visitors who may not be as familiar with western Washington and aiming to regionalize the experience.

The waterfront is expected to host most of the fan events and be a visual candy for networks across the world in July of 2026.“We talk to every single week. We have their commitment, the Mayor’s commitment, that they are on track,” to finish the project, said Chin, who noted that conversations are also underway with Sound Transit about making sure trains can handle capacity for visitors who are expected to stay miles away before and after matches.
