Chris Somers, a professor at the University of Regina, studied how the release of water from the Bruce Power nuclear facility in Ontario affected fish in Lake Huron. “I think personally that Estevan would be a better choice. It’s a bigger city,” said Elbow resident Norma Johnson, who has lived in the area for roughly 20 years and enjoys the wildlife. “This lake provides lots of drinking water to the people of Saskatchewan. And we cannot lose this water.”

“I think the main concern, environmentally, is what is it going to do to our landscape?” Stevenson said.
