When Snapdragon Stadium opened, San Diego State ambitiously aimed to sell as many as 18,000 season tickets for the 2022 football season.The Aztecs are targeting 9,300 season-ticket sales by the Aug. 31 season opener against Texas A&M-Commerce.
“As people have had their summer vacations, everybody has football media day and practice starts, the volume picks up,” he said. “We’re in a really good position, combined with a good August, to be where we need to be.”That figure dropped to 10,307 last season. Just 411 season tickets were sold in August.
SDSU fans have responded to the energy exhibited by Lewis and his staff. The season-ticket renewal rate is 84 percent this season, 20 percentage points higher than a year ago. Season-ticket prices were reduced 20 percent this season, though the effective rate is 6-7 percent given there are six home game this year compared to seven in 2023.
