Crews in Nome, Alaska , are engaged in search and rescue operations following reports of a missing Bering Air caravan with 10 people on board. Alaska State Troopers received notification around 4 p.m. local time that the flight, en route from Unalakleet to Nome, had missed its scheduled landing and was unaccounted for. The U.S. Coast Guard Alaska maritime region stated on X that the aircraft was 12 miles offshore during the transit from Unalakleet to Nome when its location was last known.
According to the Coast Guard, ground search efforts are underway, but inclement weather and limited visibility have hampered aerial search operations.
