The boat capsized near the Dock Street Dam, which has caused numerous drownings over the years.
Police told PennLive that a river rescue and helicopter search is ongoing Thursday morning near the Dock Street Dam.
Two men were in the boat when it capsized around 7:30 a.m. by the dam, but one man was since rescued, according to Harrisburg spokesman Matt Maisel. The current condition of the man who was rescued is unknown.Responders are still searching for the other missing man as of 9 a.m.with flashing LED lights downstream from the Dock Street Dam, to create an exclusion zone around the dangerous low-head dam, which is known as a “drowning machine.”near the dam.
