18. He was officially reported missing on Nov. 27, when he failed to show up for a Thanksgiving gathering. His son, Raini Pachak, said the circumstances at his father's home were troubling when a friend went to find out where his father was. “The door was unlocked. Skis were there, his car was there, his phone was there, his wallet was there,” he said. Raini described his father as a Marine veteran and a beloved member of the community who had been doing well in recent months.Temperatures in the Bluff area have dipped into the low 20s at night, adding urgency to the search. “We’re very worried but trying to remain positive,” Raini said. “They cut off the search party, and it’s really hard to come to terms with.”“We scoured Bluff from the rivers to the canyons,” he said. The search included the Utah Highway Patrol Aerial Units along with civilian and law enforcement parties looking for Pachak.“There’s no indication of foul play; there’s nothing in the house or outside the house that would suggest it,” he said.“We’ll have some dogs coming in to check the area in the next week,” Lacy said. “Every time there’s a tip coming in, we’ll follow that lead until we figure out what happened.”“My whole family is doing everything they can. We just want him to be home safe,” Raini said. Raini is working to return from Brazil to assist in the search, while other relatives have already traveled to Bluff — including a cousin.
