Three men and a 17-year-old boy, all of San Jose, were arrested and booked into San Mateo County jail.
Around 3:35 a.m., automated license plate readers in Millbrae detected a stolen Jeep wanted in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries on the Peninsula, San Mateo County sheriff’s Sgt. Gaby Chaghouri said in a news release. Deputies quickly located the Jeep and deployed spike strips when the suspects tried to drive away.
Authorities arrested two suspects at the scene, but two others ran into a nearby parking structure. The hospital was locked down while authorities searched for them. A 20-year-old man, two 19-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy, all of San Jose, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property and evading, Chaghouri said.
