After more than five months of searching, search and rescue crews have officially called off their efforts to find 27-year-old Libby Stimpson, who went missing
Sunday marked the final day of the search for Stimpson, who fell into the river in early May amid severe flooding in the area.
The cease in the official search comes as weather conditions begin to change, making it increasingly difficult for search and rescue teams to continue their efforts. According to Heiner, search and rescue personnel walked a three-mile span of the Weber River for six hours on Sunday, but like all other efforts before, they came up empty-handed.
Although emotionally prepared for the likelihood of not finding her sister, Heiner described the end of the official search for the season as "devastating."
