Search for missing swimmer at Foster Beach resumes Thursday morning
Chicago police resume the search on Thursday, June 22 for a 19-year-old woman who disappeared the previous day while swimming at Foster Beach in Chicago.
Detectives were conducting a death investigation pending autopsy results. The body was transferred to the Cook County medical examiner’s office for identification. A 19-year-old woman was last seen by a witness struggling to swim to shore before she became submerged in the water, police said. Around 8:30 p.m., dive teams from Chicago police and the Chicago Fire Department responded to a call of a missing person in the 5200 block of DuSable Lakeshore Drive at Foster Beach.The divers suspended the search in the evening and police said they would continue the search during daylight hours.
