Communities such as Elm Grove, Triadelphia, and Valley Grove are in recovery mode, as residents begin the arduous task of cleaning up the aftermath. Emergency crews resumed operations in Elm Grove early Monday morning, focusing on search and rescue missions. "We're going to have more search and rescue for our two missing people. We still have cars in the creek that need to be removed and also searched," Ohio County Emergency Management Agency Director Lou Vargo said. The flooding has left a trail of destruction, with many homes lost and vehicles destroyed. National Road into Triadelphia is lined with debris, a stark reminder of the fast-moving waters that swept through the area. In response to the disaster, tetanus shots are being offered to those in need, and free supplies are available at Guntry and the Armory. "We're going to have damage assessment teams starting and the hope is- when you have any type of disaster the hope is that we have information. I know houses have been destroyed, some have been damaged- when we get those numbers we're going to give it to the state. Hopefully the governor will ask for a presidential declaration, we'll pass it to FEMA and maybe we'll get some funding," Vargo said. As the community rallies together, the focus remains on locating the missing and assessing the full extent of the damage.
