Authorities were searching Sunday for a possible aircraft crash in Utah's Daggett County after intercepting an initial report of a crash Saturday night.
BOWDEN DRAW, Daggett County — Investigators in Daggett County Sunday were searching for a possible missing aircraft near Bowden Draw after intercepting a report over a handheld radio.
"At the present time, we have no confirmation of occupants or injuries," the Daggett County Sheriff's Office posted about midday Sunday on Facebook. "There have been no reports of any aircraft not returning to local airports." A Daggett County search and rescue crew is conducting the search with help from the Uintah County Sheriff's Office and the Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter.
The Daggett County Sheriff's Office posted at 9:55 p.m. Saturday it had received a report of a possible airplane crash. The initial report was intercepted on a handheld radio in Vernal and was later confirmed by a commercial airline that was flying over the area, according to sheriff's office.
