Richard Douglas Fields, 34, 5'6' and 170 lbs., has not been seen or heard from since about 4 p.m. Saturday when he told his family he was going kayak fishing at Bayview Lake. His kayak has been recovered. Fields was last seen in a long sleeve blue shirt.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was notified early Monday afternoon and immediately launched an intensive search which has deployed sonar, drones, a helicopter and dive teams, said Lt. Joni Money.The search was temporarily suspended Thursday because of the weather but is expected to resume Friday.
Fields was last seen wearing a long sleeve blue shirt. He is described as 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. Money said investigators are asking that anyone who spoke with Fields on Saturday or saw him fishing call investigators at 205-325-1450.
