The CDC director pointed to the fact that most current hospitalizations with COVID are unvaccinated people and that there are more than 85 million people in the U.S. eligible to be vaccinated but who have not been.Before showing the clip of Hannity, Melber said:"I just want to be clear with viewers. I'm not playing it because it's reliable, but rather to give you the chance – on the record, CDC – to address it.
"Here is the accurate information. The vast majority of people in this country who are getting infected with COVID, who are showing up in the hospital with COVID, and"Over 85 million people in this country are eligible for a vaccine and are not receiving it - and have not yet received it," Walensky added.
"I believe that to be false," Walensky said."In fact, I would say even if you happen to be one of the breakthrough cases, your case will be far milder than if you didn't have a vaccine."
