The Seahawks (6-5) can maintain and possibly extend their NFC West lead with a win over the struggling Jets (3-8).
The Seattle Seahawks went from last to first in the NFC West in the span of two weeks, knocking off the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals in the process. To start their December schedule, the Seahawks go on the road for a matchup against the New York Jets . While the Seahawks have salvaged their season following their bye week, the Jets are coming off their bye week with virtually zero chance to make the postseason.
Two seasons ago, the Seahawks kept their playoff hopes alive and officially eliminated the Jets from contention in a 23-6 home win at Lumen Field. Geno Smith threw touchdown passes to Colby Parkinson and Tyler Mabry, while the Seahawks defense forced three turnovers off of Jets quarterback Mike White. Seattle’s only prior trip to MetLife Stadium to play the Jets was in 2016, with the Seahawks winning 27-17. If the Seahawks win, they will improve to 7-5 and maintain their NFC West lead.
